The 2nd Annual Old Friends Along the Kentucky Bourbon Trail®

Comes to Louisville's Historic Seelbach Hilton Hotel February 20

GEORGETOWN, KY-FEBRUARY 10, 2010-On February 20, 2010, Louisville's historic Seelbach Hilton will again unite Kentucky's favorite industries: Bourbon and horses with the 2nd Annual Old Friends Along the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.® The bourbon tasting and progressive dining experience will benefit Old Friends, the Thoroughbred Retirement facility in Georgetown, KY that is home to more than 90 retired racehorses.

The event will begin at 6pm with distillery representatives of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail® hosting tastings and appetizers in the hotel's famous Rathskeller, followed by dinner at 8pm in the beautiful Five Diamond Oakroom.

The Seelbach's Executive Chef Jim Gerhardt and Chef de Cuisine Bobby Benjamin have created yet another sumptuous bourbon-inspired feast for the evening's guests:

Hors d'oeuvres
Butternut squash "shooters" with Four Roses and maple gastrique
Baked fingerling potato with Maker's creme fraiche and Benton's bacon
Seelbach "sliders" with Maker's ketchup and Dusseldorf mustard
Pork Belly with BBQ glaze and coleslaw
Bourbon-smoked mussels with Woodford mignonette
Duck rillette with berry preserves and duck cracklings'
Sweet potato with lettuce cups and Wild Turkey Rare Breed spiced pecans
Cherry Tomato with red onion salad and basil Hayden vinaigrette

Dinner
Onion bisque with bourbon-grilled Gruyere cheese with Benton's bacon
Kurobota pork shank with Weisenberger Mill grits, granny smith apples, swiss chard, and a bourbon-apple gastrique

Dessert
Assortment of candies, pastries and chocolates..

A highlight of the evening will be a silent and live auction to benefit Old Friends that will feature fine pottery, sculpture by the renown Richard Hess, prints by premier equine artist Celeste Susany, Del Mar Country Club gift gift certificates, high-fashion items from Turnbull & Asser, racing books and memorabilia, a stunning hand-crafted "Kentucky Derby" hat by Maggie Mae designs, signed photographs, vacation opportunities, and more.

Tickets to Old Friends Along the Kentucky Bourbon Trail ® are $100 (tax and gratuity included), and the hotel will again offer the, "Take the elevator home" reduced room rate of $79 for the night.
